Fractal surface of amorphous platinum pyrimidine complexes in solid state as revealed by anomalous small angle scattering

چکیده
The amorphous platinum greens, which were synthesized from Pt ( N H s ) ~ ( H ~ O ) ~ (N03)2 or from Pt(NH3)2(H20)2(S04) and uridine, 5-bromouridine and ftorafur, were studied in the solid state by anomalous small angle x-ray scattering. The intensity curves exhibit a power-law dependence, which is likely to originate from large aggregates that are quite compact yet have rough surfaces. The surface fractal dimension varied between 2.2-2.7. The radius of gyration of the particles in the aqueous reaction mixture before precipitation was only about 5 A. Thus it was concluded that the aggregates barely nucleate during the reaction and grow during the precipitation with acetone.

The size evolution of platinum nanoparticles formed on a SiO2/Si(111) substrate as a function of the level of surface coverage with deposited clusters has been investigated. The anisotropic shapes of sub-nanometer-size nanoparticles are changed to isotropic on the amorphous substrate as their sizes increased. Using anomalous grazing incidence small-angle x-ray scattering (AGISAXS), the scatteri...

Vapor-deposited amorphous solid water (ASW) is the most abundant solid molecular material in space, where it plays a direct role in both the formation of more complex chemical species and the aggregation of icy materials in the earliest stages of planet formation. Nevertheless, some of its low temperature physics such as the collapse of the micropore network upon heating are still far from bein...

متن کاملFeasibility Study on Anomalous Small-Angle X-ray Scattering near Sulphur K-edge
Anomalous small-angle X-ray scattering (ASAXS) is expected to be a powerful and vital tool for the structural study of soft matter. We investigated feasibility of ASAXS near sulphur K absorption edge at SPring-8. Scattering pattern was successfully obtained and the dependence of scattering intensity on the energy of X-ray well agreed with the calculated one. This study can be the basis of struc...

The nanostructure of hydrogenated amorphous silicon–germanium alloys, a-Si12xGex :H, prepared by the hotwire deposition technique (x50.06– 0.79) and by the plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique ~x50 and 0.50! was analyzed by anomalous small-angle x-ray scattering experiments. For all alloys with x.0 the Ge component was found to be inhomogeneously distributed with correlation leng...
